In Class Assignment: Mollusk Structures and Comparative Anatomy (we will have time to finish next class) Homework: Shape of Life Worksheets: Phylum Mollusca and Phylum Echinodermata Good evening studentsI have received a cumber of emails from students asking for an extension on their Invertebrate Trading Cards. As such, I want to offer an extension to everyone in both classes.
**The cards are due by 5 pm Wednesday April 22nd 2015. Cards can be handed in or send to Ms. McCarron via email. Good luck studying for your test. But remember, a good night's sleep is more important than last minute cramming. Ms. McCarron Earthworm Dissection and ReviewI hope we enjoyed our hands on exploration of the earthworm today in class. There will be one or two questions on your test regarding the earthworm dissection. For example, label the following in the diagram.

We watched a Shape of Life video and filled in skeleton notes on segmented worms. We then split into our groups and had an opportunity to team our group members about the material for "Our Phyla" project. Ms. McCarron came around and asked each group questions about the particular phyla. Homework 1. Complete the Pre-Lab for the Earthworm dissection which will be next day. See you soon, Ms. McCarron Aquarium, Annelida Class and DissectionAfter our Platyhelminthes and Nematoda class (Wednesday for 1-1 and Thursday for 2-1) we will be going to the Aquarium on Friday April 10th 2015.
All students who do not attend will have a short make-up assignment to complete and students in 1-1 can use class time to work on it and/or their Phylum and Invertebrate Trading Card Projects. Next week we will have our class on segmented worms. We will watch a Shape of Life video, complete the corresponding worksheet, and work together to fill in skeleton notes. After this we will gather in our groups to teach each other about out Phyla. You must have a copy of the text notes and text questions for your other group members this day. I will come around and ask each group questions about the phyla for points. If the question is about Porifera it must answered by the group members who DID NOT work on that section. Class After: - Dissection Day and Review - we will be performing a short dissection on an earthworm - Your group will meet with Ms. McCarron to assign marks for the group work. Unit Test: April 20th for 2-1 April 21st for 1-1 For anyone who missed their Plant Unit Test ...Ms. McCarron will be holding a makeup test session on Tuesday April 7th 2015 after school in her room. The test will start at 3:00 pm and should take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
